These are seconds — handmade pottery pieces that didn’t quite meet our first-quality standards.
Many people love the character these small imperfections add.
What qualifies as a second:
• Pinholes or irregularities in the glaze
• Slight differences in size or shape
• Air bubbles
• Marks in the clay
• Minor dents, chips, or cracks on the base
• Warping or a slightly wobbly base
These stoneware soap holders have been thrown on the potter’s wheel. They are finished in a beautiful burgundy glaze with the natural clay underneath. These are perfect to rest your soap on and they make lovely housewarming or birthday gifts too.
The dimensions are 1cm height x 12cm width (approx.)
Due to the handmade nature of these pieces, small variations in shape, size, and glaze colour will occur. These unique characteristics add to the charm and individuality of hand-thrown ceramics — no two bowls are exactly alike.
All our ceramics are made with care in our North Somerset studio. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at enquiries@fayedumasceramics.co.uk
