We are Faye & Vince, a family-run pottery business based in the lovely Mendip Hills, in North Somerset.
Our story
I (Faye) grew up in Bristol where I studied Fine Art and learned how to use the potter’s wheel. I have always been drawn to making things by hand and am most happy when I’m creating something. I (Vince) am from France and trained as a landscape gardener where I developed an early appreciation for design and craftsmanship.
Our paths crossed in 2013 on the other side of the world whilst travelling in New Zealand. After a year of travelling and a few years in Bristol, we settled in the Mendip Hills and built our life here. We had a shared love for creativity and embarked on many different projects, including upholstery, furniture making, home renovation and finally pottery.
Once settled in North Somerset, we decided to turn our passion for creating unique objects into a pottery business. Our two young children keep us grounded (and wonderfully busy) and our studios — a converted space in our garden — is where it all happens.
Every piece we make is handmade by us, from start to finish. We throw, trim, glaze and fire each pot with care in small batches. We believe pottery should be beautiful but also unique and usable — pieces that feel good in the hand and become part of everyday life. The textures, colours and quiet imperfections reflect the slow rhythm of hand crafted objects.
Running a family pottery business means the lines between work and home often blur in the best possible way. You’ll often find us with clay on our hands, kids playing nearby and the kiln firing late into the evening.
We love knowing that our creations travel to homes across the country (and sometimes further), carrying a little piece of our story with them.
Thank you for supporting our small family business. We pour our hearts into every pot we make and we hope you feel that when you hold one in your hands.
